Leake was born in London, England in 1885. By 1914, he was showing his work in London galleries. At some point, he relocated to the U.S and is usually classified as an accomplished American painter.
He created advertising images for Coca-Cola , and painted numerous magazine coves and story illustrations. Leake has exhibited at the Salmagundi Club in 1923 and The Royal Academy in London amongst others.
